Milan, 26.02.2024. The Linnaeus Hemp Competence Centre is part of an international research group for the application of hemp-based components for aerospace and aeronautics. The research focuses initially on the insulation of spacecraft and the application of composite materials for probe components. The aim is the substitution of fossil-based plastics, the extension of the service life of components and, in connection with this, the resistance to cosmic radiation and the development of modern hemp genetics for this purpose. The research group initially consists of scientists and other stakeholders from Costa Rica, Czech Republic , Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Romania, Slovakia and Thailand.
