Linnaeus Kompetenzzentrum Hanf gGmbH is part of a new international consortium founded in collaboration with African Golden Food Ltd. (Ghana), the German Federal Association for Sustainability (Bundesvereinigung Nachhaltigkeit e.V.) and Revita Hanfkontor GmbH. The aim is to implement projects on food security, soil remediation using hemp and new value chains for the aerospace industry. An important step is the opening of the European office of African Golden Food Ltd. in Berlin.
The consortium will focus on:
- Smart Circular Agro-Food System Initiative
Supporting African Golden Food Ltd. in developing a holistic model to enhance food security, rural development, and sustainable agriculture in Ghana, based on the secured 40,000 hectares for a 50-year lease. - Restoring Contaminated Soils through Hemp Cultivation
Developing a systemic, science-based, and inclusive project on phytoremediation using industrial hemp to rehabilitate degraded lands, reduce pollution, and build resilient livelihoods. - Hemp Value Chains for the Space Industry
Creating industrial hemp–based prefabricated materials for applications in the aerospace and space industries, with Revita Hanfkontor GmbH as the designated point of sale for the German market.
Linnaeus provides scientific, educational, and vocational training expertise, and coordinates research aspects.
