Linnaeus Achieves Top Rating Among Leading Innovators 2027
The Linnaeus Competence Center for Hemp has once again been recognised by FOCUS Business as one of Germany’s Leading Innovators 2027. In the category Research / Development / Science, Linnaeus is one of only two organisations to achieve the maximum score across all assessment areas.
FOCUS Business compiles the list together with the research institute FactField. Companies are assessed on the basis of a broad understanding of innovation covering five areas: strategy and innovation culture, products and services, processes, business model and organisation. Each area can receive up to three points, resulting in a maximum total score of 15 points.
Linnaeus achieved the highest possible score in all five areas.
Innovation Connecting Research, Application and Organisation
This assessment approach closely reflects Linnaeus’ own understanding of innovation. Research and development create lasting value when new knowledge can be translated into practical applications, effective processes and organisational structures.
Linnaeus therefore works across disciplines at the intersection of bio-based materials, industrial hemp, circular economy, vocational education and technology transfer. Its activities range from research and development of new material applications to projects that strengthen the skills of professionals and companies for the transition towards a circular economy.
Being recognised again as a Leading Innovator 2027 the second year in a row confirms this approach. The result is particularly notable because Linnaeus did not merely meet the overall requirements for inclusion. It received the maximum score in every one of the five assessment dimensions.
The recognition reflects an approach to innovation that combines technological development with organisational learning, skills development and the transfer of research into practice.
